Fretsaw pattern for 3D wooden crocodile

This puzzle consists of about 100 separate parts, but do not let that frighten you. We are attaching a detailed plan (drawing), according to which you can make this handicraft neatly and methodically.

Remember: this very pattern without scaling will only work with 4 mm. thick plywood or wood. It can be easily bought in any building materials shop.

Follow the assembly sequence below (indicated with numbers on the template), and your crocodile will be like on the picture.

Tips and tricks how to cut and assemble the plywood alligator

Use the graphic files with drawings of details: having increased the scale of the details, you will increase the size of the whole crocodile and vice versa. You can use any photo-editor for this purpose – even your smartphone.

It is not necessary to cut each part separately. You can print the plan of the crafts, and then cut out all the details from paper and stick them on a suitable piece of plywood. In addition, you can transfer the drawing to wood or plywood using copy paper.

Then use a fret saw, bow saw, jigsaw or sawing machine. To make the parts more smooth after sawing, you can delicately process them with sandpaper.

On top of that, after assembling, a crocodile can be coated with a special paint or varnished. If you varnish the parts before assembly, then the connection of parts may be difficult.

Save these pictures on your computer or print them directly from our site. For the edging of separate parts to be easier, use thick paper while printing, (of course, if your printer allows to process the thick paper sheets – read the manual).

For beginner wood craftsmen, we strongly recommend that you carefully follow all the instructions. Good luck!

We hope you (and your friends) enjoy this cool crocodile! See other jigsaw and fretsaw templates on our site! Feel free to comment or ask any questions!
