I offer you to make a beautiful wooden toy, that is called "Funny Snowman". It is desirable to use 6 mm. plywood or veneer, but if it is problematic for you to use the wood, you may use thick cardboard or several sticked layers of thinner cardboard.
Materials
- the workpiece made of plywood or cardboard
- acrylic paints: white, blue, orange, green, brown, silver and golden one
- round brushes (1-4 mm. in diameter)
- cotton disks or a piece of foam rubber
- cotton threads - red and brown
- thin crocheting hook
- scissors
- glue
- pencil

PART 1
Saw out the parts of a snowman with a fretsaw (or scroll saw) as it is shown on the plan. Perforate the openings. Then, take the wide brush and dye the details "Head", "Body", "Legs" with white color, detail "Present" - with red, and detail "Mittens" - with green. Keep in mind, that all the details have two sides and a butts.
Take a pencil and mark the elements on the parts of a wooden snowman. Take the "Head" pattern and mark eyes, nose, brows and fur-cap. Draw the knitted socks on the "Legs" and the ribbon on the "Present".
Mix white and blue colors to get the light-blue hue. Take the brush and try to paint the part of a plywood toyin order to give a visual round forms of a snowman parts: "Head", "Body" and "Legs". Then, prepare a little bit darker light-blue color mixture and highlight the round forms of details with thinner strokes.
Take the silver paint and rub it with cotton or foam rubber into the "frosty" parts of a snowman to make them shine a little.
Take a round brush and paint the orange carrot-nose. Mix the red and white paints, and dye the cheeks of a snowman pink. Color the brows, eyes and mouth with brown color.
Paint the lapel and the elements of socks with red color. Imitate the knitten structure of the plywood cap and socks. Try to make your strokes very short.
HINT: to make the lines smooth, first, mark it with thin strokes of pencil or brush.
Accurately outline the borders of cap, elastics socks lapels. Take the golden colour and paint the ornaments of present box, ribbon and a bow. Accentuate the shape of a bow with thin brown strokes.
PART 2
Knit the scarf of a snowman using red yarn. It should be about 8-10 cm. in length. If you do not have any knitting skills, you may make the scarf of fabric or braid.
Join the "Head", "Body" and "Legs" with thick brown treads as it is shown on the plan.
Take the glue and stick the "box with gifts" to the body of a snowman. Stick the mittens - one to the body, another - to the box, as if the snowman holds it in his hands. The last thing is to tie a scarf on the wooden toy.
The toy can be hung on a Christmas tree with decorative ribbon (satin or fosta nylon)
